Overview

Our BMW 4 Series (G22/G23/G26/G82) mileage blocker is a dedicated plug-in module designed for the BMW 4 Series (G22/G23/G26/G82) with iDrive 8 / Curved Screen instrument cluster. It temporarily stops mileage (or kilometres) from being recorded while the vehicle is in motion, and is intended only for off-road use, dyno testing, and vehicle development or tuning.

How the mileage blocker works

The module is a small microcomputer that plugs into the wiring behind the vehicle’s instrument cluster. It selectively blocks and filters the mileage signal so that the odometer and related control units do not record additional distance while the module is active, while the system remains stable with no warning lights when correctly installed. When deactivated, the vehicle behaves as normal and mileage is recorded in the usual way.

Installation

• Switch the vehicle off and allow the electrical system to shut down before starting.
• Picture 1 – Remove the guard plate / lower trim panel shown in the installation image to access the wiring loom.
• Picture 2 – Locate the white plug shown in the loom and disconnect it.
• Picture 3 – Connect the module inline as shown. Connect the module plugs to the matching vehicle connectors and connect the original white plug to the corresponding module connector.
• Check that every connector is fully seated and that the wiring is routed so it cannot be trapped, pinched or strained.
• Secure the module and wiring safely in the installation area and refit the guard plate / trim.
• After installation, close the vehicle doors and lock the vehicle for 2 minutes, as shown in the supplied manual.
• Unlock the vehicle and confirm that the instrument display and normal vehicle functions operate correctly.
  
  

Important

• This curved-screen version connects at the white plug behind the guard plate shown in the pictures; it is not fitted by removing the curved display / instrument cluster.
• Use the correct trim-removal procedure for the exact BMW chassis being worked on.
