Two modes stop mileage recording, with different speedometer behaviour: Mode 1 disables the speedometer, while Mode 2 keeps it working. Mode 3 restores normal operation.

How Does the Audi A6 / A7 / A8 Mileage Blocker Work?

The module contains a small microcomputer that connects to the wiring behind the instrument cluster. It selectively blocks and filters the mileage signal so the odometer and related control units do not record additional distance while a blocking mode is active.

When correctly installed, the system remains stable without warning lights. Returning the module to its normal setting restores standard vehicle operation and mileage recording.

To activate the module or change modes, press the MENU button three times or pull the headlight flasher four times. The indicator blinks confirm the selected setting:

• Mode 1 — One blink: Mileage recording is stopped. The speedometer does not work.
• Mode 2 — Two blinks: Mileage recording is stopped. The speedometer continues to work.
• Mode 3 — Three blinks: Normal operation and mileage recording are restored.

To return to normal operation, repeat the mode-change sequence as needed until Mode 3 is selected, confirmed by three indicator blinks.

Follow the supplied fitting guide and the appropriate procedure for your vehicle:

1. Switch off the ignition and allow the vehicle’s electrical system to shut down.
2. Access and remove the instrument cluster or Virtual Cockpit, as applicable, using the correct vehicle-specific procedure.
3. Disconnect the original instrument-cluster connector.
4. Connect the module inline between the vehicle wiring loom and the instrument cluster.
5. Where a Pin 1 or alignment mark is provided, align it correctly and do not force the connector.
6. On later Audi / VAG harnesses, connect the cluster end first where specified in the supplied fitting guide.
7. Check that all plugs are fully seated and correctly oriented.
8. Secure the module and wiring so they cannot be trapped, pinched, or strained.
9. Refit the instrument cluster and trim.
10. Switch the vehicle back on and confirm normal instrument-cluster and assistance-system operation with the module in Mode 3.
