How Does the Audi A1 Mileage Blocker Work?

The module contains a small microcomputer that plugs into the wiring behind the instrument cluster. It selectively blocks and filters the mileage signal to control the additional distance recorded by the odometer and related control units.

The amount recorded depends on the selected mode. Both reduced-recording settings retain the actual speed display, while Mode 3 returns the vehicle to normal mileage recording.

Hold the OK button on the steering wheel for 10 seconds to change modes. Repeat this action to cycle through the available settings:

• Mode 1: Actual speed is displayed and 10% of the distance travelled is recorded.
• Mode 2: Actual speed is displayed and 30% of the distance travelled is recorded.
• Mode 3: Normal operation is restored and 100% of the distance travelled is recorded.

Turn-signal or indicator flashes confirm the selected mode. To restore normal operation, repeat the 10-second OK-button hold as needed until Mode 3 is selected.

6. On later Audi / VAG harnesses, connect the cluster end first where specified by the supplied fitting guide.
7. Ensure every plug is fully seated and correctly oriented.
8. Secure the module and wiring to prevent trapping, pinching or strain.
9. Refit the instrument cluster and trim.
10. Switch the vehicle back on and confirm normal instrument-cluster and assistance-system operation.
